Description
Product Introduction
Bently Nevada 60R/SIM01 is the mandatory system interface module for the Orbit 60 Series machinery protection and condition monitoring systems. This module is required for every Orbit 60 system deployment, whether a single chassis or multiple chassis connected via Xtend™ technology, and is widely used in power generation, oil & gas, petrochemical, and heavy industrial facilities. The Bently Nevada 60R/SIM01 occupies one slot in the Orbit 60 chassis and must be installed adjacent to the Power Input Module (PIM), serving as the central access point for system configuration, diagnostics, and external communication.

Key Features & Advantages
-
Mandatory System Controller – Every Orbit 60 system requires exactly one SIM module. It defines the system boundary, controls protection configuration management, local display interface, system-level diagnostics, system LEDs, system contacts, and the system protection fault relay .
-
Physical Configuration Security – Equipped with a key-lock switch on the public side and a contact on the utility side, the SIM prevents unauthorized changes to system configuration settings — a critical security feature for protection systems .
-
Triple Ethernet Ports with Advanced Diagnostics – Three independently configurable Ethernet ports support system configuration, time synchronization, temporary troubleshooting, and external display connection. The SIM also provides enhanced system status reporting with four distinct states: OK, Protection Compromised, Protection Fault, and Attention .
Industry & Applications
-
Steam, gas, and hydro turbine protection systems requiring centralized rack management
-
Compressor and pump condition monitoring with distributed chassis configurations (Xtend™ technology supports chassis up to 2km apart)
-
Refinery and petrochemical machinery protection with redundant power configurations
-
Offshore platform equipment monitoring with remote display integration via SIM Ethernet ports
