The 5136‑PFB‑104 is an intelligent PC/104‑form‑factor PROFIBUS‑DP communication interface card manufactured by SST. Equipped with independent i960 RISC co‑processor, it executes full PROFIBUS‑DP‑V1 protocol stack locally, off‑loading real‑time field‑bus processing overhead from the host embedded CPU. It supports DP‑Master‑Class‑2 and DP‑Slave modes, handling cyclic process‑data exchange as well as acyclic parameter access and device diagnostics for PROFIBUS field instruments, drives and remote I/O nodes. Shared dual‑port RAM enables high‑speed deterministic data exchange between host embedded system and PROFIBUS network. Configurations and firmware are stored in on‑board flash memory, retaining settings after power‑cycle. Hardware watchdog and multi‑LED status indicators deliver continuous network health monitoring for fast on‑site troubleshooting.
