Product Overview
The 8913-PS-AC is a certified safety-grade redundant-capable AC-DC power supply exclusively developed for the Emerson PAC8000 modular distributed I/O and safety instrumented system (SIS) platform. It serves as the core power backbone for PAC8000 carrier racks, Bus Interface Modules (BIM), remote I/O cards and field intrinsically safe equipment in explosive hazardous zones such as oil & gas refineries, chemical plants and offshore facilities.
This dual-voltage output design eliminates the need for two separate power units to power 24V logic I/O loops and 12V auxiliary transmitters, sensors and relays, greatly simplifying cabinet wiring and reducing rack space occupation. It supports parallel redundant hot-backup configuration: two 8913-PS-AC modules work in parallel to deliver bumpless power switchover if one unit fails, completely removing single-point power outage risk for critical ESD, burner management and process shutdown safety loops.
