Product Overview
The Emerson VE4003S2B2 is an 8-channel isolated HART-enabled analog input module exclusively developed for Emerson DeltaV S-series distributed control system. It is the core signal acquisition card responsible for collecting 4–20mA analog current signals from field smart transmitters, pressure sensors, flow meters, level gauges and temperature transmitters, converting analog field values into digital data for DeltaV controller closed-loop process calculation, monitoring and interlock logic execution.
This module resolves core signal reliability challenges in heavy industrial process environments. Every channel adopts independent optical isolation design to block ground loop interference and strong electromagnetic noise generated by high-power inverters, motors and switchgear, effectively protecting the DCS backplane and main controller from field-side voltage surges. Native HART protocol support enables two-way communication with HART smart instruments: technicians can remotely read device diagnostic codes, adjust transmitter range, perform loop calibration and view equipment health status without on-site wiring disassembly. The fused terminal base design isolates short-circuit faults on individual loops to avoid module-wide failure, and the hot-swappable structure allows replacement during live rack operation without system power-off, minimizing production downtime during maintenance.
