Product Overview
The D5030D is a dual-channel intrinsically safe switch amplifier with voltage-free SPST relay outputs, designed for SIL-rated discrete signal isolation between hazardous field devices and safe-area control systems. It accepts current-based digital contact signals from field switches, provides galvanic separation, and drives isolated relay outputs for DCS and PLC discrete inputs. This isolation barrier prevents hazardous energy migration and detects field wiring open or short faults automatically. System designers and instrumentation technicians use this unit to simplify compliance with intrinsic safety standards, removing the need for multiple single-channel isolators for multi-switch field assemblies. Compact DIN rail form factor optimizes cabinet density for new builds and plant retrofit projects.
Application Scenarios
- Refinery Emergency Shutdown (ESD) Loops: Processes limit switches, pressure trip contacts and flame detectors installed in classified hazardous areas. Isolated relay outputs transmit fault status to safety systems while maintaining full intrinsic safety certification.
- Petrochemical Tank Farm Monitoring: Interfaces level switch and overflow protection sensors. Built-in wiring fault detection identifies broken cables or short circuits before critical tank overfill events occur.
- LNG Terminals – Valve Position Feedback: Receives discrete position signals from process valves within hazardous zones, delivering isolated status feedback to distributed control systems without compromising explosion safety requirements.
