Product Overview
The AAR181‑S50 S2 is a FIO‑series multi‑function temperature input module built for Yokogawa CENTUM VP and CENTUM CS3000 DCS systems. It acquires low‑level signals from RTD resistance temperature detectors, thermocouples and millivolt transmitters, converting raw sensor readings into digital process values for the FCU controller.
‑S50 stands for multi‑type temperature input capability; S2 denotes the upgraded hardware revision with improved thermal stability and noise rejection. Full channel‑to‑system galvanic isolation suppresses ground‑loop interference and improves measurement stability in electrically noisy plant environments. Per‑channel burnout detection alerts operators for broken sensor wiring. Hot‑swap compatible, supporting online module replacement without shutting down the control station. Front‑panel LED indicators show module status and channel fault conditions for fast on‑site troubleshooting.
Application Notes
- Compatible with Yokogawa FIO node units and FCU controllers for CENTUM VP / CS3000 platforms.
- Each channel can be individually configured for RTD, thermocouple or mV input via DCS engineering tool.
- No intrinsic‑safe rating; install approved safety barriers when connecting sensors located in hazardous classified areas.
- Must be mounted inside standard industrial control cabinet; avoid dust, moisture and corrosive gas exposure.
- Use matched Yokogawa terminal block assemblies for field sensor wiring.
- Verify system firmware compatibility before commissioning.
- Main deployment: petrochemical refineries, power plants, chemical plants, pulp‑paper facilities for reactor, furnace and pipeline temperature monitoring loops.
