The 3008 is the triple‑modular‑redundant (TMR) main processor module for Schneider Triconex Tricon safety‑instrumented SIS systems (V9.6 and above). Three identical 3008 modules work in parallel within the main chassis, performing hardware voting to mask single‑point internal faults. 3008 executes user safety application logic, manages TriBus high‑speed backplane communication with I/O modules, handles real‑time fault diagnostics and system status reporting. It provides optically‑isolated RS‑232 diagnostic port for TriStation programming, download and troubleshooting. Hot‑swap capable, the module can be replaced online without safety‑system shutdown.
