Product Overview

The ITP201 is a high-performance transmitter processing input module designed for Metso DNA distributed control systems widely deployed in pulp & paper, mining, mineral processing, cement and heavy industrial process plants. This rack-mounted I/O board serves as the core signal conditioning unit for smart field transmitters, processing 4–20mA analog measurement signals while supporting bidirectional HART communication to access extended diagnostic data, device calibration parameters and secondary process variables from smart pressure, level, flow and temperature instruments.

It addresses recurring operational limitations in heavy process automation environments, including inability to extract HART secondary diagnostic data by conventional analog input cards, measurement drift caused by ground loop crosstalk between adjacent channels, lack of on-board loop fault detection for field transmitter wiring, and complex spare module commissioning within the Metso DNA ecosystem. Built with individual channel galvanic isolation, integrated HART modem circuits, non-volatile memory for parameter retention and front panel LED fault indicators, the module delivers stable and repeatable signal conversion under cabinet temperature fluctuations, heavy mechanical vibration and electromagnetic interference from large crushing, grinding and pumping equipment.
