Product Overview
The TTR200 is a compact DIN‑rail‑mounted universal HART temperature transmitter from ABB measurement portfolio, cabinet‑mount counterpart of field‑mount TTH200 transmitterABB Group. It converts raw signals from RTD, thermocouple, resistance and millivolt sensors into standardized 4‑20 mA analog output with superimposed HART 7 digital communication for process‑plant temperature measurement loops.
Universal multi‑sensor input allows flexible channel configuration without hardware modification. Built‑in comprehensive diagnostic functions detect sensor breakage, wire corrosion and internal device faults, complying with NE 89 and NE 107 Namur standards. Two front‑panel LEDs deliver visual power‑on and fault indication for quick local troubleshooting. Functional‑safety certification supports safety‑related process loops up to SIL2 for single unit and SIL3 for redundant setup. Global hazardous‑area approvals cover ATEX, IECEx, FM and CSA for zone‑0 applications. Configuration and calibration can be completed via HART handheld communicator, FDT/DTM software or ABB FIM / DAT200 asset‑management tools. Slim 17.5 mm housing saves cabinet installation space for dense I/O layout.
Application Notes
- Loop‑powered design; powered via 4‑20 mA signal loop, no separate auxiliary power required.
- Install on standard 35 mm DIN‑rail inside climate‑controlled industrial cabinet; IP20 rating, not for direct field outdoor mounting.
- For hazardous‑area signal loops, follow intrinsic‑safe wiring rules and match certified safety barriers.
- Hardware write‑protection must be activated for SIL‑relevant safety‑loop operation.
- Supports single‑point and two‑point sensor trimming for on‑site calibration adjustment.
- Avoid condensation, dust accumulation and corrosive gas exposure inside cabinet environment.
- Typical deployment: petrochemical plants, power‑generation stations, pulp‑and‑paper mills, chemical‑processing facilities for DCS temperature‑measurement loops, cabinet‑based I/O retrofits and spare‑part maintenance.
