Powered by a 32-bit DSP processor with integrated dual-port memory, this board acts as the centralized communication hub within each Mark VI control rack, governing all data traffic on the internal VME backplane and establishing stable inter-rack connections via the proprietary IONet system control network. It performs rack module address management, cross-board data forwarding, TMR redundant controller synchronization, and real-time status reporting for all local I/O, servo drive and protection boards installed in the chassis.

This component mitigates critical communication failures inherent to legacy turbine control frameworks, including unsynchronized data voting between triple redundant processors, slow inter-rack signal transmission, unmonitored bus load fluctuations, and limited on-site diagnostic access for network faults. Built-in power rail monitoring and ground fault detection circuits continuously track the health of 5V, 12V and 28V internal power supplies, automatically flagging abnormal voltage conditions before they cause module lockup or control loop dropout.
