Product Overview
The PW482‑50 S2 is a rack‑mounted power supply module for Yokogawa CENTUM VP and CENTUM CS3000 DCS systems. It converts AC mains input into stabilized 24 V DC power to feed Field Control Unit (FCU), FIO I/O modules and ESB bus coupler hardware. S2 represents the updated hardware revision with improved thermal performance and component reliability.
This unit supports dual redundant load‑sharing deployment inside FCS chassis. If one power supply fails, the standby unit takes over seamlessly without interrupting DCS control operation. Built‑in multi‑layer circuit protection safeguards downstream control hardware against surge, short‑circuit and over‑temperature risks. Front‑panel LED status indicators show power‑on status and fault alarms for quick on‑site diagnosis. Hot‑swap capable, permitting module replacement while the control station remains online.
Application Notes
- Compatible with CENTUM VP, CENTUM CS3000 FCS chassis, FCU controllers and FIO‑series I/O hardware.
- For high‑availability loops, install two PW482‑50 S2 modules in P1 / P2 slots for redundant power architecture.
- Install only inside standard industrial control cabinet; not for direct hazardous‑area mounting.
- Avoid condensation, dust accumulation and corrosive gas environment.
- Confirm chassis slot compatibility before installation; match system firmware revision.
- Widely used in petrochemical, power‑plant, oil‑gas, pulp‑paper and chemical plant DCS upgrade & retrofit projects.
- Do not mix different hardware revision power modules in one redundant power pair.
