Product Overview
The TRICONEX 5411H is a fiber optic remote I/O extender module built for the Tricon Triple Modular Redundant (TMR) safety control platform. It creates galvanically isolated long-distance communication links between the main Tricon host chassis and remote expansion I/O racks, eliminating ground loop interference and electrical noise common in industrial plant environments. Dual redundant optical ports support fault-tolerant data transmission; if one fiber path fails, the second channel maintains continuous I/O data exchange without disrupting safety logic execution. The module executes continuous built-in diagnostics for fiber breakage, signal attenuation and link faults, forwarding all alarm information to the main processor. Safety and instrument engineers deploy this hardware to extend I/O placement far from the central control room. It enables flexible layout of ESD, fire and machinery protection points while preserving SIL 3 fault tolerance, avoiding costly long-distance hardwiring of field sensors and actuators.
